Key points
- control ankles or knees
- if controlling ankles, go AROUND the legs
- if controlling knees, go THROUGH legs
- tension (pulling) on ankles makes it harder for opponent to resist
Ideas for passing
- from ankle control
- swing opponents legs away from me, step over with inside leg and “slide” my hips down their legs
- from knee control
- pull opponent knee between my legs and KEEP CONTROL OF KNEE
- plant other hand on opposite hip
- plant head on opponent belly
- get up on toes, lift but in air, rotate around opponent’s guard
- push opponent and try to take back or side control
